Wireless Ad Hoc network is a distributed network composed of several wireless stations. It's easy to deploy and hard to destroy, so has a wide application in many fields. After years of development, video surveillance system has entered the era of intelligent. For Ad Hoc networks, video can make it more widely applied; for intelligent video Surveillance system, Ad Hoc network can provide good physical platform. Thus, the integration of Ad Hoc network and intelligent video surveillance system will be a trend. Based on this, this thesis designs and implements an Ad Hoc network node based on TMS320DM6446.This thesis proposes an Ad Hoc network node design scheme based on TMS320DM6446 platforms and implements the scheme. The proposed scheme is suitable to be used as hardware platform for intelligent video surveillance system due to its good characters, such as, high integration, low power consumption, high cost efficiency, flexibility in algorithm realization and plentiful peripheral interfaces. The thesis describes the designing, implementing and debuging processing of hardware system and the transplant of software systems and routing protocols in detail.This thesis proposes a new method to constructing Ad Hoc network based on iptables as well as Shell programming. The advatage in this method is its ability to construct Ad Hoc network with dynamic topology structure.Finally, we test the Ad Hoc network node designed in this thesis, including access capability, transmitting capacity and networking capability. The testing results show that the designed nodes can meet the basic requirements as an Ad Hoc network node and can privides a good platform for the future reseach with good performance.
