Intelligent transportation monitoring system acts as an important branch of intelligent transportation systems. Along with the rapid development of the computer vision algorithm, microelectronics technology, network communication technology,computer technology and intelligent detection technology, a monitoring system based on computer vision technology is widely applied in people’s life and work, military, and many other fields, especially in intelligent traffic video monitoring system. Because of its broad space for development and good application prospect, the intelligent transportation monitoring system has become the research hotspot of the society.Based on Davinci multimedia dual-core processor TMS320DM6446 chip of TI company, the thesis designed the traffic video image processing hardware platform, and discourse the functional requirements of traffic image processing hardware platform, the overall program design of platform, the selection of functional chip in hardware design,etc., what’s more, the thesis specifically analysis the overall function of the platform and each module of the platform. This hardware design of the platform uses the Altium designer 10.0 and Hyperlynx8.1 software to complete the schematic design of the platform and PCB production. On the basis of the completion of the hardware platform,the traffic video image processing hardware platform develops and designs the underlying software.The image processing circuit of the hardware platform takes high configuration of the TMS320DM6446 processor as the core, detailedly analyzing the resource allocation of the processor and the composition of the dual-core architecture. The image processing circuit also includes the DDR2 memory circuit, FLASH storage circuit.Hardware decoding circuit of traffic image uses TVP5146 chip as the core to analyze the operating characteristics of the chip and working mode. Power supply module uses the TPS65023 as the core to complete the design of the hardware platform. The hardware platform also includes communication module such as Ethernet module, USB module, RS232 module, etc.In the image processing circuit of hardware platform, data read and write speeds between the processor and DDR2 memory are above 100 MHZ, which belongs to the high speed circuit. So the thesis analyses signal integrity problems about the impact onthe reflection and crosstalk of high-speed PCB design in detail and also analyses the generating mechanism and suppression methods of signal reflections and crosstalk.Through the Lin Sim of the simulation software Hyperlynx, the thesis also completes platform simulation work before wiring, setting the PCB wiring rules and through Board Sim, completes the simulation after wiring, verifying the rationality and correctness of the PCB design.On the basis of the completion of PCB production, this thesis mainly introduces debugging of the power supply module and serial communication module in the hardware platform. And this thesis elaborates the Linux kernel boot process as well as the kernel configuration and compilation, completing embedded Linux kernel work in the transplantation of this platform.And to test the function of the platform and shows the test results.
