Bibliometrical Analysis And Appraisal On IT Value Literature Form 2000 To 2010 In China

In recent years, information technology has attracted the attention of a large member of researchers and voluminous papers in this area are published. Grounding on abundant literature resources, multiple methods such as literature review, mathematical statistics and bibliometrics are adopted in the present thesis. Through computer searching and manual searching on the periodical database of CNKI, totally 160 articles focusing on IT value are introduced and analyzed. And they are classified into four types:studies on construction, studies on evaluation, studies on influence and comprehensive studies. And integrating with comprehensive evaluation and strategic coordinate evaluation, the characteristics of these literatures are analyzed and summarized from the following perspectives:the number of literatures, authors, quotations, sustentation fund, periodical, frequency of usage and key words. In the comprehensive evaluation study, taking the number of literatures, authors, quotations, sustentation fund, periodical, frequency of usage and key words as variables, the level of development in each branch of IT studies is demonstrated through setting index weights, calculating comprehensive score and evaluating IT value. In stratagem coordinate evaluation, methods like Centripetal degree and density calculation, key words study and Strategic coordinate quadrant are used to look into the development of each branch of IT value studies and their internal and external relations.The present thesis aims to clear up the general knowledge of the current situation and the development tendency of IT value studies in China, and provide useful information for researchers or those who are interested in this area. The results show that:first, in China, studies on IT valuation are mainly distributed in Changjiang delta, Zhujiang delta and Peking. Most of researches depend on research productions of foreign countries and the quotations mostly come from foreign countries. They are still in the elementary stage. Second, Valuation researches of IT are mainly in the fields like technology management research, information magazine, management informationization of China, science and technology management, scientific research management. Third, Valuation researches of IT are lack of core-authors and the research findings of core-authors need to be increased. Four, the influence of valuation researches of IT attract more authors' attention, but the connection of the inside research and outside research is not tight and lack of unambiguous centre. Five, the synthesization types of IT valuation researches is the centre of the four types and tight in the connection of the internal research and the external research. Six, studies on construction and studies on influence are closely related to each other and studies on construction usually have a great impact on studies on influence. Besides, studies on evaluation need to be improved.Comparing to other papers which just summarize the research productions, using bibliometric method and context analytical method, the present thesis mainly evaluates the current situation and development tendency from the perspective of literature attributes. However, due to the large quantity of literature, the present paper may not be conclusive enough.
