The study of clinical psychology had developed greatly since it was introduced. Whilethe study is in an initial stage, to look back and summarize the developing state of some stageof the subject was benefited to the buildups of the research outcome, the experimentalsummary and the findings of questions. In this study, the method of biblometrics was used inquantitative statistic and analysis of literatures correlated with clinical psychology from 1999to 2004 in China, and in summary of the state and character of development of clinicalpsychology in this stage, in discovering questions and forecasting the developing tendency infuture of the subject. In this study we searched the descriptors in Chinese hospital knowledge depository(CHKD), and 132 articles correlated with clinical psychology were found. The type, theme ofstudy, method, subjects, author, citation and condition of financial assistance of all the 132articles were analyzed statistically. Results: 1) the study of clinical psychology were mainlyfocused on summary of phenomenon and experiences, lack of theoretical study. 2) The studyon different patient crowds was unbalanced, and mainly focused on cancer patients, parturient,patients of operation, patients of cardio and cerebral vascular accident and patients ofneurosis. 3) The study group stayed in different hospitals, though the group was enlarged, thelevel of the group was low and instable. 4) The mean quantity of citation of clinicalpsychology was slightly less than that of technology articles internal, and the articles weremainly cited from Chinese and foreign journals. By this study we found out that the method of biblometrics can analyze the genesis,development, differentiation and trends of inter-penetrating, and can definite the importantliterature, key-author and key-journal, and can provide optimal program for literature reportand help the readers to read on focus, and can confirm the property of subject and subjectdistribution of informational resource, and can help the study personnel to get massiveinformational resources, and can study the distribution of scientists and evaluate the fame ofauthors and identify talented man of science.
