Learning Support Website Platform Research And Development

Websites of special subject develops quickly in the domestic, and the research on related issues has become a heated topic in educational fields. However, the investigation of the existing websites shows: Most of establishers of those websites just pay their attention to multi-media display of knowledge, so they neglect the learners' different needs and do nothing to support their learning. In the developmental process of distance education, the educational failures and low effects, which result from the neglect of learners' needs and of supports on their learning, must be enough to cause us awake. Today, the same mistakes must not repeated in web-based education. Therefore, in the rapid development of website of special subject, investigation and research to how to support learners' study has the very important meaning.This paper includes five chapters: Chapter 1 introduces the research background and analyzes the progress actuality and existing problems about website of special subject. It also discusses the necessity of developing the platform for study-supported website of special subject. Chapter 2 defines the concept of study-supported website of special subject and discusses its theoretical basis, targets and principles. Chapter 3 demonstrates the support to study from three facets: the target users, learning stages and learning modalities such as self-regulated learning, collaborative learning, inquiring learning etc. On the base of previous chapter, the system design, division of models and system development are introduced in Chapter 4. The last chapter summarizes the study. Then, it analyzes shortcomings of this paper and points out works should be done next.This paper not only emphasizjes the principle of study support, the concept of study-supported website of special subject, but also analyzes the study support that learners need from different points of view. And based on that, it designs and develops the platform for study-supported website of special subject. So, it has certain theoretical meaning and practical value.
