With the arrival of era of economic globalization, competition among enterprises has become increasingly intense. Therefore, only by taking measures such as decreasing the cost, optimizing management system, etc, can the enterprises keep off failure in the intense competition from the market. Based on this, workflow technology emerges as the times require. It can improve effectively the enterprise's core competitiveness because it analyses and improves the business process and management systems by computer models.At present, the technology of modeling, managements, and integrations of workflow has relatively been matured. However, verifying the rationality and performance of the workflow model by the technology of workflow simulation is still in its start-up stage. Based on the project of "Research and Realization of Workflow Simulation Technology" which is the sub-project of national 863 project named "Process-oriented Software Product Line", In this paper, the technology of workflow simulation was deeply researched, the process simulation tools based on B/S structured were also implemented. The contributions of the thesis as follow:1. We analyze the current status of workflow technology and simulation, and point out the significance of workflow simulation technology.2. We systematically introduce the related theoretical basis of the SynchroFlow workflow models from two points such as static description and implementation rules. Based on that, we design the core model and support model for workflow-oriented simulation.3. The resource model was studied in detail. Representing events which can be predicted by resources work schedule and simulating events which is random by random number generator make the execution time and business process be closer to the reality. A novel concept, virtual resource model was proposed according to the relation and requirement between modern enterprises and resource models to promote integration of resource models and process model. 4. The core technologies of workflow simulation were studied thoroughly, including simulation environment setting, correctness checks of simulation models, simulation metrics setting, and evaluations, etc. The structure and performance of workflow were analyzed and the performance indicators and evaluation methods related were also presented as the basis of model optimization.5. A business process simulation system based B/S structure was designed and implemented according to the above theories.
