The module for high-speed data acquisition is one of the most important modules in the front-end of radar receiver, and it plays a vital role in signal and information processing follow-up. In this paper, the technologies of external illumination radar and data acquisition are briefly overviewed, then the basic theory associated with data acquisition and processing is described, and a design of the semi-realtime data acquisition and processing system based on multi-PC architecture is posed. The paper focuses on a high-performance high-speed data acquisition card named after ICS554 which is introduced from two aspects: hardware and software. Hardware description includes the performance, functions and operating methods of every module of ICS554. Software implementation mainly uses C language. The programme is to control the data acquisition. Finally related data processing methods are showed, and detailed experimental analysis of measured data is done.After testing, the high-speed data acquisition and processing system based on ICS554 and multi-PC architecture is applicable to a variety of external illuminator, and the system can be competent for the tasks of semi-realtime target location and tracking.
