In the 21st century,people are gradually moving from the industrial civilization to the ecological civilization. Ecological sustainable development is drawing more and more attention. The report from the seventeenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China for the first time clearly states:"Building a conservation culture by basically forming an energy resources and protect the ecological environment of the industrial structure, growth and consumption patterns." The report also stressed that, "make the concept of ecological civilization firmly established in the whole society". It also pointed out the direction of publishing industry development.At present, the publishing ecology in China is not optimistic .There are tendencies such as proliferation of new books varieties, following the trend of publishing, publishing overflow, speculation of books. The trend of ecological destruction of a good publishing is drawing attention from scholars world-wide who consider that it breaks the publishing ecology and affects the security of publishing industry in China. Published ecological environment protection and improvement, building a harmonious Chinese publishing industry, researching new ideas for the sustainable steady and healthy development, have become the biggest problem of current publishing industry.This paper starts from the analysis of publishing industry,proposing the concept of publishing ecology, penetrating ecological principles into the publication activities and principles. Analyze how to deal with the relationship between publishing and the society, publishing and the nature ,also the relationship between printing media and make the issue of development and social development and environmental security coordination. Explore the optimization of publishing ecology, protection of publishing ecological balance to ensure publishing industry the way of sustainable development.
