The Optical Pick-up plays an important role in the optical memory system, however, the capability of the Optical pick-up is directly decided with the performance parameter of laser spot, it is the important standard of the Optical pick-up evaluation. With the advent of the high-definition age, it offers new opportunity to optical memory market. For the need of domestic market, independently research the technology of NVD.The laser spot is micro-spot, lots of household laser analyzer can not measure. This paper designs the spot test system of NVD Optical pick-up, based on LabVIEW and IMAQ.The research work was mainly focused on the hardware and software. In the hardware work, the task included the modeling design of driver circuit and mechanical installation platform. On request of soft system Image Processing, choosing an image grabbing card with high performance-price ratio. software of the test system is the key of the research, mainly focused on the analysis and processing of the spot image. The software was written in Microsoft Windows operation system, where LabVIEW was used. The software can acquire laser spot image. The article makes analysis of the spot image, make use of the powerful image processing function, choose the reasonable pretreatment, Image Segmentation and boundary detection algorithm.Based on the performance parameter of red-ray high-definition NVD Optical pick-up, correlation parameter of test spot: centralized positioning, spot radius and ellipticity, display the three-dimensional of the light distribution.
