In this paper, the methods and techniques of using the laser spot target plate images to measure the laser hit probability are researched. The Image algorithms that are identifying and locating the center of target plate and identifying and extracting of the laser spot are researched. It provides a reliable theoretical basis and experimental data results for the measurements of laser hit probability.Considering the characteristics of the test image, the target plate center cross is identified and located by normalized cross-correlation (NCC) template matching algorithm in the analysis of the target plate. When talking about the laser spot identification, the image segmentation algorithms have been researched in depth. There are two methods about identify and extraction the laser spot, namely interactive threshold segmentation method and self-adaptive threshold segmentation method. However, both methods of treatment effect are not ideal. Through comparing the various algorithms, Otsu local recursive segmentation algorithm has been chose to identify and segment the laser spot image, and treatment results are more satisfactory.The laser hit probability measurement software has been compiled, which is based on the development tool of Visual C++6.0. Large number of experimental data processing results show that image algorithms used in this paper are suitable for the laser hit probability measuring test.
