The spatial characteristics of the laser characterized by the convergence characteristics of beam, the transmission characteristics and the conversion characteristics. The spatial characteristics of the laser are basis to improve the laser, the optical system and the beam quality which greatly affect the application of laser technology.First, this paper discusses the detection principle and related technical indicators about Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor. Several principles are proposed to make these technical indicators optimal matching, and studied several centroid detection models with Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor. Then, the beam wavefront reconstruction algorithm, intensity distribution characteristics and the beam mode are studied from the two aspects of the phase and intensity, and the beam transmission parameter calculation method is also discussed. Finally, we have completed the design of the experimental system, the preparation of measurement and analysis software, measurement and analysis of the strength characteristics of the spot, the phase characteristics and transmission parametersThe subject use Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor to multi-scale analysis of the spatial characteristics of the laser spot, to make up for the shortcomings of traditional CCD sensors can not measure the spot phase information. And we achieve a new method for the spatial characteristics of the beam through the single measurement of one position of the spot image.
