A Research And Implementation Of Iec60870-5-104 Protocol And Its Simulator

With the development of network technology, The IEC60870-5-104 protocol which is based on TCP/IP protocol is widely used in power automation systems, but several problems exist during actual application. First, the protocol is still in continuous improvement .Second, the manufacturers only use a subset of the protocol's all features.Third, the manufacturers understand the protocol Inconsistently, the products can not communicate with each other directly.Four, the manufacturers compete vehemently in the industry, no manufacturer willing to share the implementation of the protocol, which lead to low reusability and wasting of human and financial resources.This paper deeply studies and researches the IEC60870-5-104 protocol, implement the protocol as a library, and discuss thoughtfully in terms of integrity, time parameter, expansibility, link redundancy and so on. This paper also implements independently a simulator of IEC60870-5-104 protocol. To improve the platform compatibility and quality, the ACE frameworks are used in the design and implementation of the simulator. Use the QT library to increase graphical user interface.
