The crosscut machine is important equipment of cold end zone in glass production line, and is complete with the cutting of glass. But in some current production line, the electromechanical controlled crosscut machine is still exists, it is low degree of automation, and it can not be precise position control and speed control. The machine can not meet the automated production line, and can not meet the high-speed and high-precision control requirements, and it will have adverse effect on product quality and production efficiency. So the research and design work of the paper on the crosscut machine control system. First, the paper analyzes the control requirements and the actual cutting process, and defined the cutting precision. And it in-depth analysis of the cause of plate length deviation and diagonal deviation, it presents new method for indirect measurement on the plate length deviation and the diagonal deviation, and established the methods of measurement. Second, after the paper analyzes the movement of crosscut machine, it has chosen AC servo control technology as the driving mode, and according to"Master controller, Servo driver, Servo motor and HMI interface"structure, designs the hardware of the glass crosscut machine control system. Third, it designs the software based on the hardware. The software implements the fixed-length cutting glass, and the adjustment of Plate length deviation and diagonal deviation. Finally, establish the simulated control system in the laboratory to simulation and debug. The results show that the control system has good position control ans speed control performance, and can satisfy the control requirements of the crosscut machine of glass. It accumulats experience for high-performance crosscut machine entire equipment design.
