With the societal informatization process growing constantly, the dependence of pepeole reling on communications was higher and higher.Fibre optical communication technology has made enormous progress because of it's high communication capacity,long transmission distance and good capacity of resistting electro magnetic interference.Optical transmitter and receiver's arise was depending on market demand and technical support,which principal function was transfering communication data and optical to electroncal conversion each other as terminal unit in optical communication system. At present,it has been using widely at the area of telecommunication, electric power, monitoring, industrial controls and video transmission.Bidirectional audio optical transmitter and receiver was researched and designed in this paper.A new convenient digital audio optical transmitting system was designed and researched by arge scale integrated circuit and field programmable gate array on the condition of refering to relevant documents information.This optical fiber transmission system designed could achieve a two-way audio real-time and loss-free communications in optical fiber.There were sampling, quantization and coding of voice, the rearch and design of optical transceiver and audio signal's coding and decoding and line code's conversion by FPGA in hardware design part.At last the module from paralleled to serial was designed. The simulation was achieved through the Verlog Hardware Discription Language and useing schematic in top-down's way in EP2C35F672C8 chip of CycloneII series in the development environment of QuartusII 7.2 in software design part. The funtion and time sequence simulation was carried out,which included spi control module, paralleled-serial convert module,HDB3's coding and decoding module and 5B6B's coding and decoding module.At last,each module modify and test was undertook in this sysytem,which prompted to meet the r equirement.As the test result indicated,the bidirectional audio optical transmitter and receiver designed in this paper had virtue such as wrok steadily,good immediate transmission effect,high mobility and easy to upgrade.The design can be used in teaching optical fiber communication experiment,remote monitor and control system and security and protection system's practical production,which has practical application value.
