Slotted waveguide array antenna has been used widely in airborne fire control radar and microwave communication systems because of their flat, compact structure, power capacity, realizing low side lobe and very low side lobe.This paper mainly studies the design and the shaped-beam technology of traveling wave antenna of rectangular waveguide with inclined slot on the narrow wall.Because of the complex structure of slot, theoretical analysis is very difficult and most of the slot designs are depend on the experimental data.lt takes long design circle and great expense.This paper is based on traditional classic calculation theory.And the modern electromagnetic simulation software CST is used to simulate experimentations for getting the accurate parameters of resonant conductance considering the effect of mutual coupling.The concrete design steps are given, which are used to design a low side lobe antenna.Because of the difficulty of phase weighting, traditional design methods of slotted waveguide array antennas can only realize uniform phase distribution, which limits the design ability of beam-shaped of slotted waveguide array.To solve this problem, an unequal spacing design method is present in this paper.By compiling a constrained optimization program, the current and position distribution of elements is numerical optimized,and shaped-beam is realized primly. Base on the theoretical analysis and simulation results, the specific parameters of the antenna aperture are obtained by the distribution of excitation current are well.
