Through the investigation about central heating and its data transfer at home and abroad, we design this fast, accurate measuring instrument for heat consumption. The heat meter uses new non-magnetic flow measurement technology, ZigBee wireless network and GPRS technology to build the remote meter reading system to solve the problem of data collection and transmission.MSP430 ultra-low power 16-bit microcomputer is used as the core of heat meters to achieve flow and heat collection and accumulation separately. Conventional flow collection used dry-reed type sensor or Wiegand flow sensor that measure depending on magnetic attraction, but are troubled by iron filing. This paper uses ScanIF module of MSP430 and LC oscillator circuit to conduct flow acquisition, which can avoid this problem. Pt1000 platinum resistance is used as temperature measurement sensor, built-in comparator of MSP430 is used as high precise AD to achieve the temperature acquisition. In data transfer, the combination between Zigbee technology with GPRS networks gives full play to their separate advantages in data transmission. It avoid the shortcomings that remote cable network cost too much in wiring and maintenance, wireless LAN has too short communication distance, and the cost of GPRS is too high. Finally reach the strong point that advanced technology, easy implementation, high reliability, low costs, and deserved popularization. The data reception process of server-side is developed in VC++6.0, and the database storage subsystem uses SQL Server 2000 as database management system. Users can callstack and manage the heat data very conveniently.
