With the maturity of LED technology and the improvement of luminous efficiency, theprospect of LED products for general lighting applications are increasingly wide.It has thefeature of energy saving, long life span, strong anti-seismic, high light efficiency, which hasmore advantages than the existing fluorescent lamps and streetlights. So countries havelaunched their own national semiconductor lighting project, and apply it on the street lamp asa breakthrough. As the large-scale application of the LED street lamp, its reliability would bewidespread concerned. However the life span is the final performance of reliability. Therefore,it will become meaningful to collect the data of the LED street lamp life test, such as theillumination and energy information. In view of that, the paper carried out the research ofLED street lamp life test data collection. The research is based on the program of"Semiconductor Products Quality Inspection and Evaluation System". After the requirementsanalysis of the outdoor LED street lamp life test data acquisition system, the ZigBeetechnology and GPRS technology are determined to be used. Combining the advantages ofthe two technologies, there develops the LED life collection system that is based onZigBee-GPRS wireless data network.The system is divided into three parts: data collection terminals, data gateway and themaster server. Besides the data collection terminals and data gateways are installed in theLED lamp life test field. Data collection terminal includes a data acquisition nodeillumination, power data acquisition node,microcontroller and ZigBee communicationmodule. Each data collection terminal can collect12LED lamp life test data (including thelight data and energy data), and the collection nodes are connected by485fieldbus network.LED lamp life test field can install multiple sets of data collection terminals depending on thenumber of lamps. The data collection terminals are connected by the ZigBee wireless networkand the ZigBee wireless network sends the data to the gateway. Then the gateway transmit thedata to the server by GPRS, where the server can lay in and analyse the data at last.This paper explains the completed work detailedly. At first, it introduces the hardwaredesign and software design of the data collection terminal. A microcontroller is the core of allthe hardware circuit design and software modules are based on the Modbus-RTUcommunication protocol data collection methods of RS485bus mode and the design ofdata delivery communication protocol. Then it explains the hardware design and softwaredesign of the ZigBee-GPRS gateway, including the ARM9processor as the core of all thehardware circuit design and the realization gateway functionality of the conversion of two data packet forms and upload to the server in embedded system application design. Finally,itgive a detailed analysis of the debugging process of ZigBee module and GPRS module,including parameter configuration and data communication process. After testing the system,it can meet the design requirement, and can realize the real-time data acquisition, datatransmission and data storage function.
