TV is recognized as the most suitable media for mass entertainment, in the current market economy, vulgarization continues to be criticized. To enhance the television character, shaping the public, high-quality, responsible brand image, many TV stations attempt to use the resources of traditional media, thus television reading programs have come into being. TV reading program as a high-grade program, it is bound to bring an inestimable impact on the TV screen. At present the academic researches on TV reading programs are limited, and they haven't yet to reach a complete system. Under the impact of popular culture, the development of TV reading programs is very slow. We must analyze the status and survival strategy of the TV reading programs well for their faster and better development. Today so many television stations in China, large or small have tv reading programs, the number is adequate, but the quality is still to be improved. Therefore, the study of television reading program also appears increasingly important.This paper reviews the survival background of China's TV reading programs. And then pointed out the status quo of China's television program and analyzed the main reasons why the survival of the TV reading programs are so difficult, there are five reasons, the first reason is China's national conditions at the present stage, the second reason is due to our lack of public television and the third is market-oriented model of China's television, the fourth reason is the characteristics of the television, the last but not the least is its own problems. Then choose the specific program "begins with eight-minute" analyzing problems which existed in current television reading programs in a comprehensive, in-depth, systematic analysis, aimed at finding ways to enhance the development of TV reading programs.
