The vehicle thefts have become increasingly prominent with the social and economic development, technological advances and more and more cars have been used. Network-type anti-theft technology in foreign markets has been widely used, but in the domestic auto theft market, the electronic security technology is used mostly because of price, technology and other factors, the network-type anti-theft technology used rarely. Therefore, this thesis research is based on GPS/GSM network-type vehicle anti-theft technology, combined with embedded technology, developed to achieve a low-cost, suitable for civilian car alarm. Design and implementation of this system on the car alarm has important practical value and higher socio-economic benefits.This paper describes the design of system software and hardware, which uses SMS communication, solves communication problem among multiple devices using CPLD technology, saves hardware resources to the full; function module uses modular design ideas to reduce the size of the system; we develop software based on embedded operating systems, which is facilitate to upgrade; The biggest advantage of GPS/GSM car alarm system is to break away from restrictions. Because of complete terminal system, user can easily access mobile phone's GPS vehicle information, and vehicle devices can also send vehicle status information in time, in addition user can control the vehicle through the mobile phone to provide providence for car theft and searching the stolen vehicles. The application of embedded technology greatly reduces the system volume and reduces system cost, making the system easy to install and civilian hidden promotion.This design uses P89V51RD2 as the core processor, SIM508 as GPS, GSM module, Small RTOS as embedded operating system, finally designs a low-cost, user-friendly embedded vehicle terminal using CPLD technology. After the actual test, the device is stable, and can be used directly or modified in market.
