Transmission lines are the lifeblood of electric power companies, which management is good or bad, directly affects network security, stability. Therefore, strengthening the transmission lines run management is critical. Based on anglicizing the shortcomings of electric power enterprise in traditional operation pattern, introduced GIS into management information system application which uses modern computer graphics and database technology to access, manage, process, analyze, display graphics and attributes of geographical data, spatial data by geographical coordinates or spatial location of treatment, effective management of the property data. Thesis work:this paper designed the overall structure of the power transmission management information system by C/S and B/S structure combined; designed the main function modules of this system; and proposed using the GPS intellectualization patrol to guarantees the transmission line's operation safe and stable, enhancing its operating efficiency and the quality. Focused on programming and realizing the grid resource management module and the defect management module; and extensively used of the stored procedure to improve the efficiency of the database. The study of GIS-based power transmission management information system has important practical value to strengthen the daily management of the transmission line.
