A Study Of Linguistics In Qiqihar Place Names

Places names as an important part in the vocabulary system, studying its sound, form and meaning is also an important topic in the research of linguistics. The city of Qiqihaer as one of the important cities in Heilongjiang province, do the linguistics research is not only good for expending the vision of linguistic research, excavation the places of Qiqihaer contain cultural deeply. But also good for naming the basis of place names and providing the reference of management.This article collected 1642 Qiqihaer geographic names as the research object. We based on the relevant theory of descriptive linguistics, adopting the combination of quantitative and qualitative, synchronic and diachronic, to analysis the linguistic features and the evolution of Qiqihar geographic names.The paper mainly divided into the following sections:The introduction part mainly introduce the history of Qiqihaer, the situation of place names research, the selected topic background, the significance and research methods.The first chapter, the basic structure of Qiqihaer. We study the syllable structure and vocabulary constitute of Qiqihaer geographic names. Qiqihar does not appear syllable word name, of which the majority with three syllables place names, accounts for about 51 percent of all places. “Proper Noun+ Common Term” accounted for 53.4 percent of all places, while the use of geographic names of Common Term character and the Proper Noun words are analyzed.The second chapter,Qiqihaer place naming reasons and characteristics.According to the way of naming, Qiqihaer geographic names can be divided into two types: natural entities and human social, fifteen kinds of forms. And it reflects the northeast China of natural landscape,national fusion, military activities,etc.The third chapter, the diachronic evolution of Qiqihaer.We analyzed the diachronic evolution of Qiqihaer place names,Qiqihaer disappeared in the historical development process of place names,the changed of new place names and the new names are summarized.The fourth chapter, the problems and strategies of Qiqihaer geographic names. The problem mainly manifested in language and society two aspects. We propose to strengthen the language standardization of geographical names should meet “convention” principle, as well as strengthening the policy tools and construction the digital names of public service platform.The conclusion part, sum up the characteristics constitute, the importance of Qiqihaer geographic names, the innovation and disadvantages of this study.
