The phenomenon of Chinese new words gradually vanishing is very significant since the new period.The paper aims to focusing on the new words that produced in the new period, and trying to find out the characteristics and the reasons caused the phenomenon of Chinese new words gradually vanishing. the paper include three chapters:Chapter one, quantitative analysis based on the corpus. According to arranging and collecting new words dictionary, we can make sure linguistic data. then we can use three methods that including Modern Chinese dictionary、related corpus and language sense to screening and determining the scope of the new words that gradually vanished, structure the corpus. Then sum up and describe the overall trend of new words gradually vanishing in new period and study these new words in stages based on the corpus.Chapter two, analyze the characteristics of the new words that gradually vanished. the aim is trying to find out which kind of new words vanished more easily, and whether there are some regulars.the paper summarize these regulars from voice factors、 grammar factos、semantic factors and rhetoric factors. About voice factors, there are abbreviated language and transliterated words. About semantic factors, there are synonyms and semantic background that clear away. About rhetoric factors, there are figurative word building、parody word building、homophonic word building. About grammar factors, there is analogy mechanism.Chapter three, analyze the reasons caused the phenomenon of Chinese new words gradually vanishing. The reasons include four sides, there are the social reason、 pragmatic psychological reason、the network media reasons、language system reasons、 specific include the disappear of old things、popularize of new things、the psychological of loving the new and loathing the old conformist mentality, and so on.
