| Purpose:Objective: Constipation is one of the sequelae after stroke and it is lack of efficient clinic treatment. In this work, we observe the clinical efficacy of eye-acupuncture compared with hemp seed soft capsule in the treatment of constipation after stroke. Then through the comparative study we try to find a better method to treat the constipation.Material and method:60 patients with the inclusive criteria were chosen from Brain Science K2 in Affiliated Hospitals of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine between November 2014 and December 2015. They were randomly divided into two groups by the method of flipping a coin. 30 were in the control group and other 30 patients were in the treatment group and both of the two group were treated by basic treatments for stroke. Base on these treatments the treatment group adopted eye needle therapy by acupuncturing the district of large intestine,top burner,up burner and spleen once every day for 5 to 15 minutes according to the patients’ own constitution. The control group was only treated by oral hemp seed soft capsule base on the basic stroke treatments. A one-week-treatment was as one course and the treatments lasted for two courses. To evaluate the clinical efficacy of these two methods the Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndrome Grade(TCMSG), Constipation Clinical Score(CCS)and PAC-QOL were adopted before and after these clinical treatments.Results: 1. There are significantly differences between the treatment group and control group in the evaluation results of TCMSG, CCS and PAC-QOL(P<0.05). 2. The clinical efficacy of eye-acupuncture is better than that of treatment by only oral hemp seed soft capsule(P<0.05).Conclusion: 1. Both the two methods have positive effects on the treatment of constipation after stroke. 2. The clinical efficacy of eye-acupuncture is better than that of treatment by only oral hemp seed soft capsule. |
