Purpose:In this paper, we want to make a summary of the experience of Professor Wang Mei on the syndrome differentiation treatment of obesity from the view of deficiency of spleen and dampness, and provide reference for the treatment of obesity with spleen deficiency.Material and method:By collecting the clinic cases of Prof. Wang Mei’s treatment of obesity from May in 2015 to March in 2016 and material analysis, we summarize the cognition and interpretation on the etiology and pathogenesis of obesity. Afterwards there’s an analysis of the characteristics of prescription drug treatment for obesity, and the methods to add and subtract for different symptoms. Results:Professor Wang Mei thinks that obesity is related to the spleen and its associated symptoms concern the kidney and liver. There are three main pathogenesis: insufficient natural endowment in spleen and kidney, addict to eating excess hyper lipid foods and lack of physical activities and emotional disturbance, as well anxiety impairs spleen. These factors cause the spleen incidence in function, and food essence and water fail to be transport and transmit to viscera and limbs. They turn into phlegm and humidity accumulating in waist and abdomen what gives rise to obesity. The excessive pathogenic factors are phlegm and humidity as well as stagnation of qi, while the deficient pathogenic factors are shortage of positive yang qi in kidney and dysfunction of spleen in transportation. Some female people whose symptom accompanied with hypomenorrhea and amenorrhea result from three pathogenesis. Kidney essence weakness generates blood deficiency in Chong-Ren. Dysfunction of spleen in transportation leads to qi and blood deficiency in Chong-Ren. Dispersion of Liver and phlegm and blood stasis caused by qi stagnation and blood stasis block the uterus-device. Professor Wang suggests the healthy regimen of TCM as the first. On the treatment of Liujunzi Decoction, combined with the tongue and pulse, syndrome differentiation. This therapy focus on strengthening spleen and promoting the circulation of qi, as well as eliminating dampness and phlegm. According to the symptoms associated with the drug addition and subtraction of patients, reduce the spleen dampness caused by diarrhea, sweating and fatigue. The weight loss is effective. Conclusion:Professor Wang Mei proposes the healthy regimen of TCM combining with Liujunzi Decoction to treated spleen deficiency and dampness of obesity. This decoction focuses on invigorating spleen and supplementing qi. And the therapeutic regimen has evident effect.
