The application of wind medicine has a long history, but now there is a lack of understanding of wind medicine and the concept of wind medicine. Some people fail to correctly understand the classification method of medicine in the essay "Analogizing Chinese medicines with natural phenomenon" written by Zhang Yuansu. Therefore, the use of wind medicine is relatively limited and inflexible in the clinical application, and it is difficult to achieve satisfactory clinical effects. My tutor Qi Wensheng has profound experience in the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, and masters superb medical skills, which contributes to a distinct clinical curative effect. He is good at using dispersation to treat a variety of diseases including exogenous and internal injuries diseases, and he has a unique opinion on the use of wind medicine. So, analyzing the application of wind medicine, we can know the exact concept of wind medicine and learn how to use it. Then, associated with my tutor’s experience of using wind medicine, it has important significance to improve the clinical efficacy by using wind medicine more widely, more effectively and more safely. This thesis is based on the clinical experience of my tutor, finishing with learning notes, to explore the unique experience of diagnosis and treatment about using wind medicine. Collecting literature related to wind medicine and analyzing the literature, I summarized characteristics of using wind medicine by doctors in history, trying to provid insight into wind medicine and open up a new idea of wind medicine application. Considering wind medicine is a kind of medicine, the whole thesis focus on the analysis of prescriptions, while there is a clue according by medicine-prescription-therapy-syndrome-disease-pathology, in order to a more comprehensive summary of wind medicine applicated in the traditional Chinese medicine theory. The content of this thesis is divided into two parts:The first part is the literature review, which describes the origin and development of wind medicine, aimed to make the concept and applying scope of wind medicine clear, and explore the method of using wind medicine. There are different schools of awareness about wind medicine.Despite different doctors have different prescribing habit, they all pay attention to the efficacy of wind medicine and the reasonable combination of wind medicine with other medicine. In modern times, we can more deeply understand the wind medicine by using modem science and technology. Beside, the first part focuses on the analysis of the application of wind medicine in the fire stagnation syndrome, and wind medicine can dissipate excessive stagnation of fire. The second part is a summary of clinical experience to explore my tutor’s application of wind medicine. My tutor inherited the experience of famous TCM doctor Fang Yaozhong and Xue Boshou, and worked for many years. In the process of treatment based on syndrome differentiation, he attaches great importance to the insidious pathogen and stagnation syndrome, and he creatives some experienced prescription, such as New added Deep-Reaching Pleurodiaphragmatic Interspase Decoction, Clearing and Transforming Decoction, Desensitization Mixture, and so on. He is adept at using wind medicine to dredge qi activity and promote the circulation of qi and blood, which improves clinical curative effects. Especially, he treat insidious fire stagnation syndrome with cool and dispersible medicine frequently. Considerating of wind medicine selection and reasonable compatibility, he received a significant effect to treat all kinds of diseases, for example, fever, cough, mouth sores, acne, diarrhea.Thesis shows that doctors in history have a variety of research and application of wind medicine, and analyses the concept of wind medicine:wind medicine is a kind of medicine, which have light quality and thin taste, and the characteristic of ascending, dissipating, dredging and moving. The definition of wind medicine should be based on the character and taste of medicine, not effect. Wind medicine is applied in various sinking and stagnating diseases, and the concrete application method of wind medicine is:first of all, choosing a correct wind medicine on the basis of the clinical efficacy is necessary, which means that medicine has the strengths of personality; secondly, combinating the wind medicine with other medicine could be done, which means that the prescription has its own magical effect. Thus it can reduce the adverse effect of wind medicine, and make it more effective, and get a wider range of application. With wind medicine used in in the fire stagnation syndrome, enumerating several prescriptions, especially the sources and changes of Powder for Clearing Heat from Pleural, it is indicated that wind medicine conform to the nature of the fire and resolve stagnation, which dissipate excessive stagnation of fire. The wind medicine is the key medicine in the treatment of fire stagnation. It must be pay attention to not only using too much wind to disperse, but also not too cold in the treatment, and if necessary,we could combine cold and warm medicine. Exploring my tutor’s clinical experience, choosing the most suitable wind medicine based on the etiology and pathogenesis, and combinating the wind medicine with other medicine based on the all classical doctors, it is widely used that wind medicine dredges qi activity in a variety of diseases including exogenous and internal injuries diseases and its effect is prominent. I hold that the key medicine of dispersation is wind medicine, because wind medicine can disperse insidious pathogen and dredge stasis.Cool dispersation can be targeted to treat insidious fire stagnation syndrome while it is based on dispersation and added some clear heat medicine.
