Purpose:To investigate the effecay and safty of Shu-Luo powder treating wind-fire stagnation syndrome type of primary trigeminal neuralgia by a randomized controlled study. Methods:By using the randomized-control design, patients who were diagonosed of wind-fire stagnation syndrome type of primary trigeminal neuralgia were enrolled in Neurology Clinic in May 2014 to January 2015. Begin study after informed consent, The patients were divided randomly into treatment group and control group. The treatment group were treated with Shu-Luo powder, and the control group were treated with Carbamazepine. The researcher evaluated the traditional Chinese medicine score and the score of wind-fire stagnation syndrome, and evaluated the McGill pain degree, Visual Analogue Score. At the end, the researcher did statistical analysis by spss 19.0 and evaluated the safety by observed the change of blood RT, urine RT, stool RC, blood biochemistry and elect-rocardiogramResults:64 patients were included in the study. The result showed the treatment group’s score of Visual Analogue Score and the wind-fire stagnation syndrome were impoved compared with the control group’s, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). It also showed the patients’tempreture, respiratory rate, resting heart rate, blood bressure, blood RT, blood biochemistry, urine RT, stool RT, electrocardiogram in treatment group were better than the patients’in control group. Conclusion:The study show that Shu-Luo powder is effective and safe in treating wind-fire stagnation syndrome type of primary trigeminal neuralgia, and has long-time benefits. But this study has certain limitation, it need to be further explored and increase sample sizes to comfirm the results.
