The work of measurement is more needed to assure the veracity of the result in the application of instrument. With the continual improvement of function and veracity of instrument which belong to category of the pulse generator, the traditional handworked verification can not meet the need in practical operation and the automatic verification for this kind of instrument is urgently required.The design method and implementation of pulse signal instruments automatic verification system software is introduced which is designed with Visual Basic. The design objective of software adapting ordinary instrument interface is realized with VISA I/O interface function. The design objective of irrelevancy between the software and the specific instrument resource is achieved with the design method of using database and reasonable verification flow. The software can be applied in Pulse signal categories program-controlled instrument, including pulse generator, oscilloscope calibrator, etc. The realizable verified items are the parameters of pulse output range, pulse raise edge, impulse width & frequency, inner trigger delay, DC volts deflection, etc. The verification result is recorded in the verification report automatically. The verification procedure complies with the relevant national regulation of metrology.The software can fulfill the automatic verification of variety pulse signal categories instrument. The efficiency of verification is enhanced greatly, the veracity of the data is assured and the workload is reduced by the application of this software.
