Automatic Verification System Based On The Ivi Technology Instrumentation

With the rapid development of the technologies of Semiconductor, PC, Communications, Network and Software, the modern instruments'function is much more strengthened. The intelligence and integration are enhanced much more. For this reason the precision instrument has been widely used in the science research and industry. It is a critical task to verify the modern instrument rapidly, periodical, generally, in order to guarantee the instruments'normal operation.Traditional methods of measurement and calibration of instrument are time-consuming and effort-consuming. The ATS has characteristics of precieness, visual display, and automatic data storage. And it is the positive trend of instruments' measurement and calibration.The hardware interchangeability, code's reuse and the portablility of program is the hot spot of ATS. The conception of virtual instrument has been introduced to the latest design of auto-verification System. And the virtual instrument technology makes PC resources and the latest technology of software sufficient utilized to realize and expand functions of traditional instruments test system. And it can improve the performance of modern test system and reduce its cost.This research subject is supported by Special Investing&Construction Founds. In this dissertation, one general purpose system is dissertated, which is designed for automatic test based on IVI technology. Firstly, the general situations of the researches and key technologies of ATS are briefly introduced. Secondly we focus on the point of the research of key technologies of ATS, such as GPIB, LXI, etc. And all of them are the theoretical principle of the ATS. Then, we aim at the technologies of VISA, VPP, IVI drivers. At last we utilizes some key technologies, including DBMS, interchangeable virtual instrument, hybrid BUS, VISA, to establish an ATS for instruments test based on the general PC platform. And we test and verify all the functions of the ATS.
