Multisensor multitarget tracking is an important method to acquire the tactical situation and automatize the command and control system in the battlefield. There are many system structures and a large amount of algorithms applied in the data fusion field. Generally speaking, each structure and algorithm has its merit, and it can achieve its optimal performance in the particular background. How to choose the system structures and algorithms to meet the requirements of the applications is the question that the system designer should consider seriously, and the performance evaluation technique is developed in this background.This paper aims at performance evaluation of multisensor multitarget tracking system. At first, the common model of computer simulation is established, based on which the research work of performance evaluation is carried out, and the study in this paper focuses on: â‘ Establishing the basic model of sensors and realizing the computer simulation of sensor model through abstracting the physics sensor. The design of the instance of sensor model is separated into three parts: abstract sensor model, data processor model and subsystem model. Code reuse is realized in this style, and the workload of development is reduced, and the design idea is consistent with OOP and modern software engineering; â‘¡Designing the scenario generating system. The scenario generating system is composed of equipment model, cognitive model, message model and environment model. The design method for above four models is a nalyzed, and the inheritance, methods and attributes o f class are described with emphasis while equipment model and cognitive model is realized through programming; â‘¢A set of relatively complete evaluation metrics is defined for tracking system, and their computing formula are also presented, based on which performance evaluation of fusion system for tracking is automatized, and the result is given as a whole by fussy method.In addition, the method of TWS radar simulation is analyzed in this paper, and corresponding metrics are computed for a scenario designed in this paper.
