Study And Implement On Workflow Transaction

WfMS (Workflow Management System) is applied widely in the domain of implementing business processes automation and enterprise application integration. WfMS often runs in heterogeneous, autonomous and distributed environments. Therefore, the correctness and reliability of WfMS is of critical importance to workflow system and becomes one of the most causes of the success or failure of the entire application. So the workflow system should have good ability of supporting transaction to ensure the system's correctness and reliability.In the paper the research of transaction in WfMS and transaction handling is established on practices. We analyze the difference between the transaction in WfMS and the existing transaction. Based on the analysis we point out what's the most important and difficult in the transaction in WfMS. IntelliFlow is the WfMS model with transactional feature that we propose. To make WfMS support transaction process well, in intelliFlow, we give the conception of transaction semantics, classifies the transaction more according to the semantics character, so the user can deal with different transactions with corresponding way flexibly. The model classifies the transaction to three categories: Atomic-transaction, Sub-transaction, long transaction, which can solve the manual task more efficiently and the businessman can define the border of transaction flexibly to satisfy the enterprise's demand of transaction support. IntelliFlow loose the need of atomicity, consistency, isolation required by traditional transaction model and propose the concept of demarcation point to implement part compensation. Based on the transaction semantics, we also present a series of way of dealing with long transaction's failure.There is a multi-tires and extendable exception model for workflow exception to ensure the workflow's reliability and robustness.According to our research, we develop and implement intelliFlow transaction model. In the model, we can describe the transaction semantics and define long transaction at build-time. Above all, we focus on the long transaction's defining, managing, implementation.
