Optimization Of Workflow Transaction And Implementation

Workflow is the core module in the office automatic software. And as the advance of information process, the services need to be supported by office automatic software become more and more complex. So the synthetic requirement on workflow system becomes much higher than before. The exception of workflow transaction influences the system runtime efficiency and the data’s consistency directly. So how to process the workflow exception is an inevitable question. Most of existed workflow systems provide the method to process the transaction exception. Compensation mechanism is one of the main ways to process the exception.How to narrow the compensation scope is one of the standards to determine the pros and cons of the compensation mechanism with the ensuring of data consistency. Under the basis of data dependency combined with log generated in the process of workflow, this paper proposes the compensation mechanism determining the compensation scope with the data dependency computed by log. In this paper, the content and conclusions are as follows:(1) The paper researches the current mainstream exception handling theory and its implementation, including Saga model, knowledge-based systems and TREX (workflow TRansactions by means of EXceptions) model. And the paper analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of the theory above. The paper eventually proposed the exception handling mechanism using the compensation mechanism. (2) The paper researches current compensation mechanism and its advantages and disadvantages deeply. And the paper proposes the new compensation theory that determines the composition scope using the data dependency determined by runtime log.(3) The paper researches the algorithm that generated the data dependency during the runtime and validates its validity, reliability and feasibility.(4) The paper researches the algorithm determining the compensation scope while using the compensation to process the exception. And the paper determines the scope using the data dependency.(5) The paper implements a workflow management system to validate the algorithm’s validity and ccorrectness. Through the analysis of experimental results, the algorithm proposed in this paper in terms of the scope of compensation improves the efficiency of processing of workflow transaction exception and system reliability and maintainability.
