Since the end of the 20th century, stereograms have been in a digital development. In the research of the high-quality stereogram display system, large scale and large viewing field stereograms have always been in the leading edge. The method of making large-scale stereogram by piecing together small-scale stereograms has rather high practicability, and has been put into mass produce. As one of the elementary techniques of piecing together method, the perspective image predistortion methods are introduced compared, and the comparatively suitable method is tested and practiced. There are four steps of making a stereogram using perspective image predistortion method: first step, set up the scene and sample images. The scene is made in computer and according to the rule of hologram recording; images are sampled from the scene. Second step, perspective image predistortion processing. Digital image processing software is choosing to accomplish this step. Third step, make the master hologram. A transmitting hologram is made using the existing stereogram producing system. Last step, make the reflective hologram that could be observed in white light. The most important work of the experiment is to analysis the relationship of the image and the scene during stereogram reappearing and recording, calculate all the geometry parameters, according to which the perspective image predistortion is accomplished automatically by using the existing image processing software. The thesis has several main contents: the fist part introduces the development and the status quo of stereogram. The second part mainly discusses the reason of the predistortion method, the image relationship of the stereogram, and the main reason of the image distortion and the ways of its compensation. The third part brings up the plan of the experiment, including scene modeling, image sampling, perspective image predistortion, and the master hologram recording. The forth part concerns bringing the play into practice, and finally making a reflective hologram that could show the result of the predistortion method in white light. The fifth part discusses the result of the experiment, analysis the problems occurred in the experiment. The sixth part summarizes the meaning of the experiment and takes a glance of the future work.
