With the constant development of science and technology, the computer and computer network are taken in important place. Distance learning has already become a kind of very important teaching mode, especially in the fields, such as correspondence education, vocational education and continuous educating, and so on. The Web-based distance learning systems are being paid more attention to by people domestic and internationally day by day. By employing the Internet as medium, the Web-based distance learning systems are featured with wide effection, unrestricted number of users, lower requirement for operation environment, easy managemante and maintance, and easy uasage and popularizaion. Meanwhile, Web technology is a kind of information technology wich is independent with the software and hardware platforms, easy to integrate, distribute and browse the multimedia, and friendly and dynamic interaction with.In this thesis it is focused on Web data base development technology and the ADO access technology, and the models and development methods of Web-based distance learning systems are discussed. The course characters of high mathimatics are fingured, the content of courses analysed thoroughly. According to the theory of the teaching and learning structures and the network-based teaching and learning mode, and based on the analysis of syllabus and materials of high mathematics, the gaol and design principles of the system are presented, the presentation form of teaching redesigned, and a Web-based distance learning system designed. The system consistes of four subsystems: the administrator subsystem, self-study subsystem, coach and answer questions subsystem, and open exam pool management subsystem. The administrator subsystem finishes the functions, such as user's management, safeguarding, data entry systematically, etc. The self-study subsystem offers three kinds of learning modes: chapter indexing, knowledge unit indexing, and knowledge point indexing. The coach and answer questions subsystem offers BBS and answersquestions in the community, offers the E-mail to answers questions in the way, opens up the real-time zone of discussion. In addition offer base answer questions the function when the natural language one is real. The open exam pool management subsystem offers an exam pool administrative system of Altitude Math based on Web, supports the prepare lesson or set theme to use, offers one to learner from system of examining too.
