The GPRS wireless communication systems, especially on data communication domain, is the rapidly spread new trend to implement next generation systems. Combined with GIS (Geographic information system) and GPS(Globle Positioning System),the author implement a practical system on Aviation system on Rivers. The merit of this system is LBS(Location Based Service) and applied on both wireless communication systems and aviation management systems.The author first introduce the GPS applications on transportation domain and its technical background, research trend and typical applications. With this preparation for GIS/GPRS/GPS applications, the author construct a complete framework based on the service requirements of water-aviation applications. The emphisis is on the basical principle, hardware architechture, on-spot application, with many innovations on these practical systems.The author researched on a wide varity of technologies to make the system practical. He provide profound studies on TCP/UDP/IP programming, Web site construction, VPN application, Single-Chip computer system development (Hardware and Software development). He also combines data extraction, finger-print identification, digital video, wireless internet, GIS system and geographic data organization, digital map visalization, GPS positioning and aviation,3S integration. The research will serves to provide profound experience on GPS, wireless communications on geographic information domain.
