The Research And Practice On Assessment And Control Of Process And Personnel Risks Of Software Project

Software risk management is considered the crucial method to reduce failure triggers in software project management. The research of risks' assessment and control method is the base of risk management. There is not differentiation between the process risks and personnel risks in the field. And the quantitative research is very rare. In this paper, the process risks and personnel risks' assessment and control method is researched. The main achievements are described as the following.Propose a process risk quantitative assessing model: Process risks are identified. A quantitative process risk assessing model is proposed. The process risk factor's value of the model is determined from a set of the questionnaire responses. The risk weight and aftereffect weight are based analyses of importance and frequency of occurrence of process risk factors. Then the risk control methods, their occurrence frequency and effectiveness are studied. At last, the methods reducing process risk are considered.The process risk assessing model effectiveness verification and process risks controlling: In order to verify the process risk assessing model effectiveness, it is used to assess the netturbo project's process risk. Through comparing the assessing result with what really happened, the model effectiveness is well proved. Based 312 project process risk identification, the model is used to assess it as the gist of risks prioritization and control. And the methods reducing process risk are used in the 312 project too. The project's control effectiveness is very good. In order to verify the methods reducing process risk farther, the process risks involved in GPRS project are controlled through the methods reducing process risk.Propose a personnel risk quantitative assessing model based on logistic regression: Personnel risks are identified. In order to forecasting a project's personnel risk on its beginning, a personnel risk quantitative assessing model based on logistic regression is proposed. The coefficients of the logistic model are determined from a set of the questionnaire responses. And the model is shown to be statistically significant, and the goodness-of-fit and effectiveness of it is also good.
