The main purpose of this thesis is to analyze the theories about design and development of the Computer—Supported Inquiry Learning Software .Based on this theory we promote an inquiry-instructional design of physics, establish the model of physical software that supports inquiry-learning,develop physical courseware under the multimedia technology-based instructional environment.It is very important for development of the inquiry instruction,initiating the new application of software in education. In chapter one,we discussed the research background of coureware, and analysed the current research status of multimedia technology-based inquiry instruction. Then summarized the necessity and feasibility to develop the physical inquiry-learning courseware. In chapter two,we discussed the development foundation of this physical courseware in theory,put forward the inquiry learning and the situated learning. In chapter three,we treated Electromagnetic Induction as our subject and designed the Computer—Supported Inquiry Learning Software on this subject.It was mainly include three elements:instructional design,system design and scripting design which is necessary for the development of the courseware. Instructional design of this subject includes two components: design on the elected learning cases and design on the modules of this physical CSILS. Instruction design is mostly for Electromagnetic Induction that we have elected.It is the basis of the next part we have metioned above.It should represent the character of the inquiry learning,so we design this as five parts:set up the problematic situation—inspire the interest of inquiry—prove the hypothesis by experiment—receive conclusion—analyse and evaluate this process then feedback—tansfer to a new area and innovate new application.
