The research of this dissertation is part of the project of the key technology research of reconfigurable FPGA and the project of architecture and implementation method of reconfigurable VLSI, assumed by EDA laboratory of ShenZhen university and sponsored by National Science Foundation of China.A cryptographic system includes data, algorithms and key. The system of this research is based on algorithm IDEA and RC5. Reconfigurable FPGA is a new technology, which means architecture of hardware can be reconfigured according to needs of users.A cryptographic system based on reconfigurable FPGA can rebuild up circuit according to different cipher in order to implement different function.The design of this system is described fully in the dissertation. First, the technology of reconfigurable FPGA is presented. Secondly, algorithm IDEA and RC5 are recommended. Next, the design of the system is presented including the design and control of every module. Finally, the part-reconfigurable FPGA is expected.The design of the system sticks to the general method of HDL design. VHDL input is implemented on Xilinx ISE and the process of three tests is achieved through Modelsim, which includes simulate behavioral model, simulate post-map VHDL model and simulate post-place&route VHDL model. The results of simulation are as the same as the results created by Matlab. It has proved the correctness of the design.
