The Design And Implementation Of Monitoring System On TMN PM

With the rapid progress in telecommunication industry, telecom network has become more and more complicated. In this condition, it become a prominent problem to improve network quality and efficiency. This paper studies and analyzes many kinds of TMN performance management tools. Based on that, this paper puts forward a integrative and generic performance monitoring subsystem, which can be expanded easily. The main works of the paper are listed as follows: 1. The system designed can support ATM, SDH, WDM, Ethernet technology and associated product and run on HP-Unix and WindowsXP. It serves for both NE and NM performance monitoring. 2. Java based GUI design and implement of monitoring system,especially,the report part implemented to be generic. 3. Using JDBC to provide data access of GUI. Implemented the penetrability of data access from various kinds of databases. Using connection pool and other way to improve its performance. 4. Transplant the Oracle database to support MySQL database too. Substitute Oracle Pro*C with C++ and DBI. Use Java and C++ to simulate the Oracle store procedure on GUI and printing program. 5. In the process of this system's implementation, kinds of latest and advanced software engineering ways mainly including CMM. And there is some discussion about the practical use of software engineering. The significance of the paper is that it puts forward a new way to study the performance of TMN and puts forward a integrative and generic solution. In addition, it implements the generic and platform-cross system and a solution to transplant the oracle database seamlessly.
