Research And Implementation Of Telecom Performance Monitoring System Based On End-To-End Business Model

Network performance management is an important task of telecom network management. It is very important to discover, locate and solve problems as quickly as possible. In the existing network management system, performance monitoring is focus on equipment and network element-level monitoring by fault alarming, traffic monitoring and so on. As lack of integrated management capability and end-to-end business process monitoring capability, it is more and more difficult to mainten the entire network.In order to solve the above problems, this paper discusses a new idea of performance monitoring. We make an abstraction of end -to-end business processes. With the help of object management platform software (OMP), we try to build a business resources model and construct an end-to-end business performance monitoring system.Based on a Performance Monitoring System project of a telecom operator, this paper mainly focuses on the following aspects:(1) On the basis of existing models, we propose a more comprehensive, end-to-end implementation of the telecommunications business resource model and describe the ideas and methods of modeling.(2) Use telecommunication object management platform software (OMP) to deploy the end-to-end resources model. Improve system software scalability and maintainability with disctributed architecture.(3) Build integrated telecommunication performance data warehouse on the existing data sources.(4) Design efficient performance data presentation and warning methods from different viewpoint such as business, system or network element, based on end-to-end resources model.
