| With the fast developing of foundation build of our country ,the railway and freeway constructs have come into a rapid advance time . Modem intelligent traffic management becomes the pressing task ,and the key equipment is Police traffic radar. Police traffic radar uses the theory of Doppler speed detection to measure the offset of the frequency . Traditional police traffic radar is designed with analog filter or single chip microprocessor , and it doesn't meet the requirement for its slow activity and very low precision. With DSP technology to disposal the frequency signal very fast , Police traffic radar can eliminate interference, and obtain precise speed.After consulting of the markets of china and other countries, and with the analysis and synthesis of police traffic radar, we have taken out the specification and general project to meet the user's requirement.In this article ,the advantage and disadvantage of arithmetic are discussed from classical spectral evaluation to modem spectral evaluation. The theory deducing of evaluate quality ,the analysis of complexity of compute and the steps of arithmetic are described ; especially , the method of AR model parameter, the order and computing program are gradually introduced; at last the Burg arithmetic is adopted to evaluate the spectrum.The realization of the arithmetic has been designed In this article. The microwave qscillator mixer and antenna are designed in an integrity with single frequency self mixing way. The radar is sampled with high speed A/D translator , real time processed with Ti 5000 serial DSP. The shower operational panel and serial communication are processed with single chip microprocessor. There are software designs according with the DSP -center of the hardware. The flow sequence of the main program and the flow sequence of subprogram of Burg arithmetic speed detectionN sampling, interruption are taken out . A part of the serial communication code are given out. The reasons of wrong measurement are explained .
