The Research And Application Of EGIS In Portable And Supervisory System Of Soil And Water Conservation

Embedded Geographic Information System is the Geographic Information System that runs on embedded equipment. It becomes the pop and important research direction of Geographic Information System and widely used in military field, intelligence transportation, travel, nature resources investigation and environment research realm, etc.Data collection about traditional Soil and Water Conservation Project is a time-consuming, cost-consuming and professional job. It can't satisfy the check and supervisory work of Soil and Water Conservation Project, so it is the most important technical problem.The purpose of this paper is to develop a Soil and Water Conservation Prevention and Supervision Portable System based on Embedded Geographic Information System, location and navigation technology, laser surveying technology and wireless communication technology. This system mostly used in field data collection, project checking and other relevant Soil and Water Conservation work.Firstly, the paper analyses the current research status, technology background, characteristics and application of Embedded Geographic Information System to provide the technical foundation for soil and water conservation prevention and supervision portable system. Secondly, it lucubrates in the theory of Embedded Geographic Information System, such as data collection, geographic information system and communication, etc and sets up the whole logical frame structure, implements the basic function for this system based on Personal Digital Assistant. Finally the paper summarizes the research content mentioned above and gives a practical instance — "Portable and Supervisory System of Soil and Water Conservation". The system is easy to use and schlep, and realizes information collecting and composing, topographical analysis, orientation and navigation, communication and relevant function.
