In comparison with hydraulic Automatic Transmission (AT), AutomaticMechanical Transmission (AMT) has advantages of much lower cost and smaller size. Meanwhile, it has advantages of lower oil consuming and rapid response over traditional manual transmission. So AMT technology must enjoy an extended development prospect in future vehicle transmission technology. The operating principle of AMT is to achieve the autocontrol of clutch and gear-box by obtaining the automobile's condition in work by many sensors instead of people's sensorium ,imitating people's thinking process by the program with strong function stored in ECU, replacing people's action by using solenoid valve or electromotor to control the actuating mechanism. By controlling the selecting switch the driver transfers his intention such as starting or parking the car with electrical signal to ECU. ECU sends out control order to the actuating mechanism when accepted the signal. In driving, the control of accelerate pedal is transferred to ECU by throttle position sensor, ECU estimates the best gear by the value measured ,speed and acceleration etc, and decides gear-up,gear-down or keeping. The driver can transfer his intention to ECU by trampling brake pedal if he wants to decelerate or brake, then ECU folds interrupt service routine. All of these functions are accomplished by the control program stored in ECU, including analyzing and accounting the data, control the machine etc. So whether the AMT can work well is hardly affected by the control program. So the research of control program is pivotal among the research of AMT technology. For the AMT of different automobile, the mechanical structure will be different, such as clutch, gear-box etc, but the principle of the program in ECU is basically same. So it provides the theory for developing the "Developing Platform for the Control Program of AMT". The dissertation tries to investigate the structure of AMT and it's control program to find out the commonness of control program among different AMT, and design a developing platform which can analyze the structure of AMT, set the hardware and software environment, then put these needed parameter into the existent program to create the control program for the given AMT. There are five parts in the dissertation: 1. The first part summarized relational knowledge of automatic transmission, introduced the type of automatic transmission nowadays, emphasised on the principle and structure of AMT: basing on originally mechanical transmission structure using microcomputer to control the clutch,gear-box,air control shutter ; AMT is consisted of four parts including be controlled system,electronic control unit (ECU),sensor,actuating mechanism. 2. According to the requirement of electric control unit of AMT, the second part presented modular structure. Combined with demands of developing control program,documents consulted and other research, analyzed the technical feasibility, defined the method of research,project of solution. Compared the traditional and modern developing process, analyzed the requirement of whole system and each module, presented the design objective, and introduced the functions of each module. The dissertation also ascertained the tools used to develop the system. By adopting the concept of modularization and the powerful functions of Borland C++ Builder, ensured the developing of system. 3.
