Research On Embedded Wi-Fi Technology And Its Application In Voice Communication System

Based on the sophisticated 802.11b(Wi-Fi) protocol and the facilitated wireiess local area network, the applications of Wi-Fi are developing very rapidly, which are limited on standand platforms yet. Now, the use of Wi-Fi technology in voice communication, monitoring, and data sampling is attached more and more importance. It is worth researching Wi-Fi technology in embedded applications.This paper focuses on the embedded Wi-Fi technology and its implement in the small-embedded systems.Then a foundational development platform called emWiFi is designed, which contains actual software and hardware implement methods, low-level embedded Wi-Fi driver and network protocol stack.. It can be used in secondary development easily. Finally, an example application of wireless voice communication, take advantage of emWiFi, is provided.First the paper discusses the fundamental technology of IEEE802.11 b and introduces the architecture of 802.11 b network and its different work modes as well as the differences between implementation of Wi-Fi in embedded system and in standand OS. And then the features of the Prism MAC controller and the development of its driver are discussed, with the provided realization of wireless network interface layer. An embedded TCP/IP stack is analysed and implemented at last. With these functional work, a foundational platform called emWiFi is implemented, which has features such as simple hardware structure, high code efficiency, stable performance, and easily porting.At last, the paper introduces how to implement an embedded Wi-Fi digit voice system using emWiFi. By understanding the technology of IP voice and correlative technology standard, a simple Wi-Fi voice terminal device is designed. Tl's DSP TMS320VC5509 and the use of real-time kernel DSP/BIOS are also introduced here.The main work of the paper are1.
