Embedded system is characterized by refining, dedication, expansion, and reliability, which is applied to all kinds of application domain, and has an increasing, expanded prospect. Embedded processor, ARM, created and developed for adapting the application requirements of the embedded system possesses the highest market share in the application domain of embedded system because of the fast processing speed and great execution efficiency, and furthermore, it boosts the rapid development of embedded system in the special application area.Embedded Linux, the most attractive embedded operating system, can apply to various hardware platforms, and has the merits of giving good support to network, modularization, and micro-kernel. uClinux is one of the versions of Linux, designed for CPU without MMU(Memory Management Unit). Based on the obvious advantage of the hardware platforms and the operating system mentioned above, considering the actual applications, this paper chooses embedded system, ARM-Linux, as the main research object. This paper deeply analyzes and researches the architecture of embedded system, the principle of embedded software uClinux, and then emphasizes on some common key techniques extracted from actual application requirements, finally, analyzes, designs, and develops the related application programs in the layer of current techniques based on the ARM9 hardware platform. The general principles about the reduction and recompilation of uClinux's kernel are studied which is based on the hardware platform of ARM. Then, the developing processes and methods of application on embedded software in uClinux...
