Research On Application Of Workflow Technology To Reliability Information Management System

It is an important measure to build up the closed loop Failure Reporting,Analysis and Corrective Action System(FRACAS) for improving reliability of products. Workflow technology, a rapidly developing technology, has the main characteristics that make business process automated, wholly or partially, by using computer technology. In short, the function of workflow management system is to assign the right task to the right people or software tool at the right time in the right order, so it can be used to standardize business process mangement and improve work efficiency. The process of FRACAS is extraordinary complex and many cooperative corporations are required, so it tends to apply workflow technology to FRACAS software system. After studying the workflow specifications issued by Workflow Management Coalition(WfMC), according to the characteristics of the whole lifecycle of the large-scale complex equipment's FRACAS, a flexible workflow model for FRACAS was put forward using by the distributed workflow modeling method and the model was defined by XPDL which is the standard workflow process definition language. Finally design and implementation of the failure reporting management system which is a subsystem of FRACAS software system by using J2EE technology and an opensource workflow product is introduced.
