Today, computers have come into every corner of human being's life. Computers are not simple tools any more. In most cases, they are core components of daily life.To promote the development of computer technology, it is essential to adopt a homologous computing paradigm. The computer manufacture technologies that are rapid developed have made the desktop computing into boom era. But with popularity of networks and portable devices, desktop computing can not adapt to today's man-machine relation changed by computer's development and usage. Thus, ubiquitous computing is appearing. Ubiquitous computing needs new application design approach. This thesis describes the new design approach concerning on service oriented and context aware computing. At the beginning, ubiquitous environments are described. Based on traditional design model, an application design model of ubiquitous computing is introduced. Service oriented computing and context aware computing was integrated to form this design model. And then, the thesis introduces the supporting technology of service oriented computing. Jini is our emphasis. After that, service oriented design and implement are discussed. The design approach and implement technology of context aware application are also introduced. The monitor module of BOSS(Business Operation and Support System) of GMCC(Guangzhou Mobile Communication Corporation) is an example on our design model. In addition, we also discuss the security of our design approach. The studies mentioned above show that service oriented and context aware computing is an ideal approach for designing application in ubiquitous environment. The application can solve some problems coming from ubiquitous computing in some extents. And it is valuable and worthy of further research.
