E-commerce Logistics distribution involves a great deal of spatial information correlated with geographical position. At present, many logistics distribution information platforms are only based on database or text mode, which could not exhibit all features of logistics distribution in the style of graphical interfaces owing to their loose combination with geographical information. Thus, the users of logistics enterprises' are seldom able to make their effective judgments and decisions according to the location information, and incompleteness and imprecision of logistics distribution information are caused. Therefore, geographical information should be paid close attention to in constructing the logistics distribution information platform, and graphical information should be presented in a visualized manner for the improvement of visual performance.Applying the technologies & theories of GIS/GPS and Knowledge Engineering to the construction of e-commerce logistics distribution information platform, this paper focuses on the poor visual performance and the loose combination with geographical information_of the e-commerce logistics distribution, and discusses the way to improve the visual performance of logistics distribution information platform and the way to enhance the real-time processing of logistics distribution information. Some researches of applying key technologies of the information platform are made. Furthermore, a GIS-based visual information platform for e-commerce logistics distribution is designed and realized. The main researches in this paper are as follows:1. This paper undertakes overall analysis of every aspect of the information platform, such as definition, border, function demand and information demand. All these offer foundations for construction of the information platform.2. On the basis of analysis of the information platform, some researches of applying key technologies for the realization of the information platform are carried out: the integration of space data and attribute data through Oracle Spatial, and an integrated solution for multi-source databases, which combines direct access mainly and data transformation secondarily; the function integration of the information platform tentatively in the form of basic function, basic function module, and level function organization of the expanded function package; the visual integration schemeto exhibit relative logistics distribution knowledge among GIS by using some mapping documents.3. This paper designs the visual information platform from several respects, such as technology building-up, frame, basic design of GIS, and design of database. Then a demonstration system of information platform has been designed and realized according to the above-mentioned contents, and it demonstrates good performance.The researches of applying key technologies in this paper offer technical support for the combination of GIS and e-commerce logistics distribution, and have some practical value. The realization of the information platform provides the visual operating environment to logistics enterprises' users, and offers exemplification for the real-time processing of the dynamic logistics distribution information. Therefore, it has great facilitation to the development of e-commerce logistics distribution.
