Study On Distributed Common Network Management And Implementation Of Topology Management In IP Network

This paper mainly discusses the design and implementation of the common network management platform and the algorithm of topology discovery for IP network. To resolve the problem that the traditional network management system cannot manage the different types of network, the common network management platform is presented. According to the expanding network, to enhance the management ability of network management system, a distributed solution is presented with CORBA and Java RMI technology. To resolve the problem of topology discovery for IP network, this paper presents an algorithm based on standard protocol and MIB. With this algorithm, the devices can be discovered, and the connection relations of network can be described.The result of implementation shows that the system can manage the large-scale network. The common network management platform provides the common interfaces nothing with management protocol, the system can be deployed flexibly, and the algorithm of topology discovery for IP network describes the connection relations of network clearly.
