Fault Management In Integrated Network Management System

The current fault management systems face a serious of new difficulties which include that the expansibility can't adapt to the changeful requirements of telecom operation corporations, the function of fault analysis and fault separation can't adapt to the complex structure of current network, the authenticity of fault information can't be judged effectually. This paper combining with the practical research and development discusses the fault management system in the integrated network management system, analyses the reasons and the solutions of the alarm storm and the fault vibration, propounds the fault management process which accords with TMF specifications and satisfies the requirements of telecom operation corporation and explicates the key technology of the implement of the fault management system. The fault management system applies CORBA technology to implement the distributed architecture and implements the alarm storm analysis arithmetic and the alarm vibration counteraction arithmetic and implements the fault polling model, the fault alarm model and the fault process model to complete the function of the fault management system in the integrated network management system. Now this system has been applied successfully to WLAN of Shanghai Telecom.
