The new generation weather radar system is at the end of twentieth Century and early twenty-first Century a meteorological modernization project in our country, which started in 2009 China meteorological bureau plans to build S band and C band radar 156 in the country, to 2014 has been the construction of 216 weather radar, most have been put into use in daily business.In the radar distribution network is completed, the meteorological modernization level of our country will be the last new step. Only accurately, real, objective, reflect the actual situation can be used to the weather; it is the basic guarantee of beneficial to the people’s livelihood. This is the normal operation of the weather radar put forward higher requirements, only the timely discovery of radar fault, in order to ensure the accuracy, reliability and safety of the weather radar operation, which is the inevitable trend of the development of meteorological support.The new generation of SC band Doppler weather radar(hereinafter referred to as the CINRAD\SC weather radar) is designed for the convenience of weather radar observations of staff timely detection and processing of radar fault, solve the radar working platform(PUP terminal) than with the room, artificial radar fault process is complex, the problems such as low efficiency. Especially for the traffic inconvenience to remote areas, islands and other radar stations were difficult to detect equipment failure, radar work abnormal, guarantee the normal operation of the radar, can better reflect the practicality.The system is divided into six modules: system management module, service module, fault alarm message sending module, history of radar fault query module, historical radar fault analysis module, the system automatically start. In the radar station’s practical work, they have an integrated function of radar fault diagnosis and analysis in addition to achieve the most basic alarm SMS functions. Among them, by compiling the data interface, summarized from the state information of each module of the radar. From reading the radar state information and according to the fault information in the database for analysis and classification, the final solution is obtained by means of WEB, the content of radar fault information transmission..The system began trial operation from 2013 June. In the process of using, the performance is improved and optimized, in order to improve the practicability and reliability of the system. Especially fundamentally alleviate the island, mountains and other remote areas of weather radar maintenance personnel working pressure, reduce the weather radar detection of excessive dependence on human resources, and improve work efficiency. And It is in convenient for daily work at the same time, but also conducive to radar maintenance work, with good results.
